Information checked: August 26, 2026, 8:31 AM JST.

Fujikyu Bus has announced a new reservation split for the jointly operated Shinjuku-Fuji Five Lakes highway-bus route. For journeys from October 1, 2026, the website used to book, change, or cancel a ticket depends on the operating company shown for the selected departure.

Short answerFor travel through September 30, both Keio-operated and Fujikyu-operated services continue on Highwaybus.com. For travel from October 1, Fujikyu-operated departures move to Fujiyama Connect, while Highwaybus.com continues to handle the services it sells. Both sites show the full timetable and direct customers toward the relevant booking path.

Choose The Site By Operating Company

From October 1 journeys, Fujikyu-operated departures are sold through Fujiyama Connect. Highwaybus.com remains the booking path for the departures it sells. The official notice says both websites display the complete timetable and direct travelers according to the selected service.

Fujiyama Connect may also sell a limited allocation of seats on some Keio-operated departures. The safest approach is to select the exact departure first, then keep the booking confirmation from the site that completed the sale.

Changes And Cancellations Cannot Cross Sites

A reservation must be cancelled on the website where it was purchased. A departure booked on one site cannot be transferred directly to a departure handled by the other site; the traveler must cancel and make a new booking, and a cancellation charge may apply under that site’s rules.

Points and coupons are also separate. Highwaybus.com benefits stay on Highwaybus.com, while Fujiyama Connect benefits stay on Fujiyama Connect. Check the sender and website named in the confirmation email if you are unsure where an existing booking is held.

Counter Ticketing Has Different Start Dates

Yamanashi-side counters, including Kawaguchiko Station, Fuji-Q Highland, and Yamanakako Asahigaoka, are scheduled to issue October tickets from September 1. The Busta Shinjuku counter is scheduled to begin handling Fujikyu-operated tickets on September 24, and its ticket machines on October 1.

From September 1 through 23, a Fujikyu-operated ticket reserved by telephone cannot be issued in advance at Busta Shinjuku. Travelers who need a paper ticket before September 24 should review the operator’s alternatives before choosing the departure.

Traveler Actions

  • Check the operating company shown beside the exact departure before paying.
  • Save the confirmation email because it identifies the website that controls changes and cancellation.
  • Do not assume a booking can be moved between the two websites without cancellation.
  • Allow for a possible cancellation fee if changing to a departure sold on the other site.
  • If collecting a paper ticket at Busta Shinjuku, check the September 24 counter start date and October 1 machine start date.
