Fujikyu Cycle Train September 2026: When Bikes Can Travel Unbagged

Information checked: September 7, 2026, 8:30 AM JST.

Fujikyu Railway has published its September 2026 cycle-train timetable for the Otsuki-Kawaguchiko line. On eligible local services, travelers can bring one assembled bicycle aboard without a carrying bag and without a bicycle surcharge, but the usable direction and hours change between weekdays and weekends or holidays.

Short answerOn September weekdays, the cycle-train setting is only toward Kawaguchiko on trains leaving Otsuki after 3:00 PM. On weekends and holidays, Kawaguchiko-bound windows are from the first train to 8:00 AM and after 3:00 PM, while Otsuki-bound windows are from the first train to noon and after 7:00 PM.

Weekends and holidaysToward Kawaguchiko: first train-8:00 AM and after 3:00 PM. Toward Otsuki: first train-noon and after 7:00 PM.

Which Trains And Stations Are Eligible

The service applies to eligible ordinary Fujikyu Railway trains, not the Fujisan View Express, Fujisan Limited Express, Fuji Excursion, or other JR through services. At Otsuki, use the Fujikyu Railway platform rather than treating the bicycle as accepted throughout the JR station.

Boarding and alighting are available at 16 stations on the route. Kami-Otsuki and Kasei are excluded, so cyclists planning a short segment should confirm both stations on the official page before riding to the platform.

Crowding Can Override The Timetable

The timetable is permission to use the service, not a guaranteed space reservation. Staff may refuse bicycles when a train is crowded or operational conditions make carriage unsafe, especially around events, school travel, or weather disruption.

Keep the bicycle under your control, secure it against movement, and never ride it in a station or train. A compact backup plan, such as a bicycle bag or a later eligible train, can prevent a missed connection.

Build Your Lake Ride Around The Return Window

The strict directional windows matter most on the return trip. A weekend rider heading back toward Otsuki in the afternoon may need to wait until after 7:00 PM or use another transport arrangement, while a weekday rider cannot use the cycle-train setting toward Otsuki at all.

Traveler Actions

  • Check the September timetable and your travel direction before leaving for the station.
  • Use an eligible ordinary train rather than a limited express or JR through service.
  • Avoid Kami-Otsuki and Kasei as cycle-train boarding or alighting points.
  • Keep one bicycle per traveler secured and follow station staff instructions.
  • Carry a backup plan in case crowding prevents boarding.
