If you are taking the Green Line from Kawaguchiko to Saiko Bat Cave on Saturday, October 31, check your departure before leaving the station. Fujikyu Bus has announced a race-day detour that skips the cave’s stop. Its event PDF marks seven Kawaguchiko departures, including buses leaving before the headline 10 a.m.–1 p.m. restriction window, so an early station departure alone is not enough to avoid the change.
Key Facts For Travelers
Why the Event PDF Matters More Than an Ordinary Timetable
The notice says the Green Line turns at the three-way junction before the cave. In the event PDF, both cave-stop rows are framed in red across all seven trips above. Some printed calls fall outside 10:00–13:00; confirm boundary cases with Fujikyu.
For example, the 9:40 departure’s usual Bat Cave calls at 10:14 and 10:34 are marked. Leaving the station before 10 does not avoid this change. A normal route-planner result is not enough.
Choose Between a Different Trip and a Different Stop
For a first visit without a car, our planning suggestion is to choose a confirmed service outside the marked trips if you want the usual stop beside the attraction. Check both arrival and return rather than arriving at the cave before controls begin and assuming you can board there later.
Fujikyu’s PDF explicitly directs passengers to Saiko Minshuku or Nenba Entrance during the diversion. Those are operator-named alternatives, but the notice does not give a walking time, an accessible pedestrian route or a replacement pickup beside the cave. Ask which stop fits your direction and mobility needs before committing. This check has not established a special shuttle, a taxi supply or a detour travel-time estimate.
Fit the Cave into a Kawaguchiko Day
The official tourism listing normally routes visitors from Kawaguchiko Station to the cave stop on the Green Line, with an approximate 35-minute bus journey and the facility immediately nearby. That is the normal access description, not a race-day journey-time promise. If arriving from Tokyo, plan the local bus as a separate leg after reaching Kawaguchiko and leave room before your onward train or highway bus.
The same listing gives March–November hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and admission of JPY 350 for adults and JPY 200 for children. Recheck facility operation and entry conditions for the day. The bus notice itself is not a cave-closure notice. Trip-specific bus fares, last admission, parking availability and weather are not established here.
If your day is flexible, keep the cave as a timed stop within a wider lake visit rather than forcing a tight connection during the race. Our Kawaguchiko Station arrival guide helps organize the transfer. Drivers can use the separate Saiko road-direction guide; this new bus notice supplies the stop information that had not been confirmed when that guide was published.
